How our affiliate links work.
Some products in our boutique are sold by other merchants rather than by us. When you follow one of those links and buy something, we may earn a commission from that merchant. It costs you nothing — you pay the merchant’s ordinary price.
How to tell the difference
Every product page says plainly where the purchase happens. If the button reads Buy at [merchant], the sale is theirs: the price, the payment, the shipping, the returns and the warranty are all handled on their site under their terms. If the button reads Add to bag, we are the seller and the order is ours.
Prices shown for merchant-sold items are indicative and marked “around”. Merchants change prices frequently, so the price you see at checkout on their site is the one that counts.
What it does and does not change
It does not change what we recommend. We list pieces we have specified in real projects and would use again. A commission is never the reason something appears here, and we do not accept payment for placement.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We participate in other merchant affiliate programs on the same basis.
What we record
When you click a merchant link we record which product was clicked, the page it was clicked from, your browser’s user agent, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. We keep this to understand which recommendations are useful. The hash is not reversible and we do not use it to identify you.
